"He who hesitates is lost", an old but true quote. Putting off SFA Training is like putting off treatment if you have cancer. Empty Hands, Edged Weapons, Impact Weapons and Firearms all require specific responses in order for you to counter their use against YOU. You cannot wait to develop these skills but need Sound, Consistent Training for each area of threat. This is what SFA provides in our unique personal training packages.
#1) INSTINCTS - all you really have at the moment of an assault are your immediate instincts to the violence you are experiencing. Without thinking you must react correctly and if you do not react so, then you take damage. Take too much damage and you die. Your Instincts are changed ONLY by time in repetitions with a proper instructor correcting your errors along the way until your instincts become ready to perform under duress.
#2) TECHNIQUE - You must KNOW the most effective technique for each form violence that you could face and perform this technique flawlessly. In the SFA process we do this again by special repetitions under increasing resistance until your Technique is PRECISE and without error. You must be triggered by the violence without thinking to execute the proper Technique with Confidence.
#3) CONDITIONING - you must be able to last until you have WON the assault. This kind of endurance however is only produced over time by making you perform under the duress of a live assault. This we duplicate as close to the real thing as possible with certain safety controls but taking right to the edge, so you are as close to an actual confrontation as your increase your stamina while fighting back.
Being that we must reproduce the actual Threats that you are most likely to face on the street or battlefield, we must use multiple instructors to recreate these experiences as your reactions are cultivated as you are going through them. So this kind of personal training is limited to 1 or 2 persons maximum. This is about empowering the individual student with the maximum Awareness, Skill Level, and Endurance to become "Combat Effective" in the shortest period of time.
